Event description

Description

In turbulent times we crave community—a solace, a refuge, and resonance with allies who share similar lived experiences of our global, human predicament. Writing is an ideal way to deeply and safely explore our inner world as well as open to the support of allies that our hearts long for. In fact, often times writing clarifies our thoughts and feelings more efficiently than the spoken word.

Even if you have not completed Part 1 of the series, you are invited to join me for four weeks of mining the raw materials of our hearts and souls as we journey together in healing the personal and collective shadow in response to the global predicament at this time in our lives. Sessions are 2 hours long with a short break. We will meet on four Thursday nights in May—May 2, 9, 16, and 23.

The focus of the first session was the Vision of Possibilities as we age and sage in raging times. The second section will focus on Finding and Mining The Gold That Lies In The Shadow.

We will write about and discuss such topics as:

  • What is the shadow and how does it manifest in our personal lives and our world?
  • How do we safely befriend and heal the shadow?
  • How do we project the shadow onto others, and how can we take back our projections?
  • How do we sometimes use spirituality to bypass our shadow material?
  • What is the gold we can find and mine in shadow healing?

The intention of this group is to offer a safe place to share the deepest levels of our life experience and our distilled wisdom at the end of the world as we have known it. It is also a sacred space to facilitate the healing that our planetary predicament is calling us to. This is not a creative writing group, nor is the intention to improve our technique. There is no intention to polish writing skills or critique the writing of others. The focus will be on expression and community.

Each session will meet via a Zoom call from 6PM Pacific Standard time (7 Mountain, 8 Central, and 9 Eastern time) for two hours.SESSIONS WILL NOT BE RECORDED, so it is important to carefully consider your commitment to the group.

Attending all 4 sessions is highly recommended.
