Join us at Sun City Christian Church as we welcome guest speaker, Serena Lowery, MS GeroPSY, MBA, CNA, Senior Outreach and Recruitment Program Manager Banner Research Institute. She will discuss aging as a gradual and irreversible process that includes a decline in tissue and cell function along with increases in the risks of various aging-related diseases. Lowery will discuss the aging process, along with age-related conditions such as dementia/Alzheimer’s disease.
In addition, attendees will learn about the Dementia Friends initiative, a global movement that is changing the way people think, act and talk about dementia. Learn the critical aspects to better understand dementia, how it affects people and how we each can make a difference in the lives of families. Attendees become Dementia Friends and are asked to turn their understanding of dementia into action, helping transform our communities.
