About this event

  • Event lasts 8 hours

This interactive meeting will feature case presentations, expert lectures, and panel discussions designed to foster meaningful dialogue and practical learning.

The event will bring together a multidisciplinary audience including HIV clinicians, geriatricians, nurses, physiotherapists, statisticians, clinical academics, and basic scientists. Whether working directly in patient care or conducting vital research, attendees will benefit from a collaborative environment focused on improving care outcomes and quality of life for people living with HIV as they age.

The sessions are based on a foundation of 5 Ms of Geriatrics: Mind, Mobility, Medications, Multi-complexity, and Matters Most to Me. The speakers will be exploring how these geriatrics principles can be applied to people living with HIV, by addressing cognitive health, functional ability, polypharmacy, complex comorbidities, and individual goals of care.

This meeting has been developed to address a recognised need among clinicians and researchers for a specialised forum to explore the intersection of HIV and ageing. We look forward to welcoming participants from across the UK to contribute to enhancing the future of care in this evolving field.
