Did you know that Santa Clara County was the first county to have all of its cities designated as “Age-Friendly” by the World Health Organization?
The World Health Organization’s Age-friendly Cities framework addresses eight interconnected “domains of livability” that identify and address barriers impacting the well-being and participation of older individuals. To maintain this designation, the County began work to update its age-friendly planning in September 2024. This planning started with a survey asking questions about the eight domains of livability. The survey was open to Santa Clara County residents 45 and older and 2100 surveys were submitted.
At the community listening sessions, survey results will be presented to the community help interpret the results and hear us more voices. We hope that you can join us and share your voice at these sessions. Snacks and thank you gifts will be provided!
All sessions are 2 hours long open to county residents 45 and older. Each session will consist of a presentation with highlights from the survey results (in English) followed by small breakout groups where the results can be discussed in depth. Bi-lingual facilitators will be available for the breakout groups.
