About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours 30 minutes

From comprehensive ad bans to higher taxes to ending the sale of flavored tobacco products, tobacco control advocates have been the driving force behind policies that protect millions of people from tobacco’s harm. Despite much global progress, tobacco use remains the leading cause of preventable death. With a relentless tobacco industry stopping at nothing to hook a new generation, mounting pressures from political shifts and disinvestments in global financing, it's easy for advocates to feel discouraged. But no matter the public health challenge—noncommunicable diseases, air pollution or injuries—now is the time for advocates to rise to the challenge and adapt to a new era of public health.

Join Yolonda C. Richardson, President and CEO, Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, in conversation with Mary-Ann Etiebet, M.D., President and CEO, Vital Strategies, for a timely discussion about the critical importance of advocacy and the resilience needed to fight for proven policies that reduce tobacco use, advance public health and save lives.

Join us in person at Vital Strategies’ New York Office. Refreshments will be served. Please note that photo ID is required for building entry.
