About the artists: Shua Group ( www.shuagroup.org ) is the art duo of choreographer and movement artist Joshua Bisset and visual artist and dancer Laura Quattrocchi. They create movement based artworks which encourage deep listening, human exchange, and spatial and perceptual transformation. Shua Group is currently based in Detroit, Michigan where they direct Andy a 20 sq/ft creative space. They were based in New York City and Jersey City, NJ from 2000 to 2016. Shua Group works include mass performances and actions in public spaces, audience interactive events and site-related and stage dance. Projects are built through choreography, live and field recorded sound, and interactions with objects, sites and geography. Shua Group has been presented by dance and performance presenters in New York City including Danspace Project, River to River Festival, Movement Research, Dixon Place, the 92nd St Y, Joyce Soho, New Dance Alliance; in museums including the American Visionary Art Museum (Baltimore) and the Jersey City Museum; at universities including the University of Florida, Rutgers University, and Texas Womens University; in galleries including the Rochester Contemporary Art Center, Detroit Contemporary, Victory Arts (New Jersey); and internationally by Tacheles, Berlin, Kontainer, Bilbao Spain, Le Temps D'Aimer La Danse, Biarritz France, Danza Parco, Brescia Italy, Landiver University, Guatemala, Echo Arts, Cyprus, FIDA, Toronto Canada. Shua Group has received grants from Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, the American Music Center, Hudson County Cultural Affairs and the Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation.

Zandria Lucas ( Intertwine Dance Collective ) A native of Detroit, MI, Zandria earned her B.F.A in Dance Performance, under the instruction of Jordeen Ivanov-Ericson, from Marygrove College (Detroit, MI) in 2012. While pursuing her B.F.A., Zandria worked as a freelance choreographer setting works in local high schools and for the Marygrove College Dance Company and Company 2. She has performed in the works of Douglas Neilsen, Roger Jeffery, Dante Henderson, Kevin Iega-Jeff and Kim Bears-Bailey, among others. Zandria's choreography has been showcased at ACDA, the National High School Dance Festival, the Fox Theatre, in Nogales, Mexico and at several dance festivals/showcases. Upon earning her Master of Fine Arts with emphasis in Choreography and Performance, May 2015, from The University of Arizona (Tucson, AZ) Zandria relocated back to the Metro Detroit Area where she continues her work as an artist, dance educator, and Artistic Director of Intertwine Movement Collective. Intertwine Movement Collective, founded in 2019, is a contemporary project-based dance company of artists from the Metro-Detroit area, collectively contributing to the advancement of Dance in Detroit.
