Join us for a Festive and Inspiring Start to the Season of Light and Joy
The Advent Procession of Lessons & Carols marks the beginning of Advent—a season of reflection, anticipation, and spiritual preparation for Christmas. Through scripture readings and music spanning the centuries, this service traces the story of salvation from creation to the coming of Christ.
The liturgy opens with one of Advent’s great musical treasures: Palestrina’s 16th-century Matins Responsory, sung by the choir from the back of the church. Readings are paired with beloved hymns and choral works by Byrd, Oldroyd, Vaughan Williams, Bullock, Britten, and McKie, creating a luminous and contemplative introduction to the Advent season.
Invite friends and family to share in this beautiful tradition—a meaningful way to begin Advent and prepare our hearts for the deep joy of Christmas.
The Rev. Dr. Mauricio J. Wilson, Rector.
St. Paul's Choir. Benjamin Bachmann, FAGO, MMus, Director of Music & Organist.
