Advanced Woodturning - Face Turning

Overview

This class covers face turning, including making a bowl on the wood lathe:

• Mounting methods - lathe chuck operation, Cole chucks, etc. 
• Shaping and hollowing a bowl
• Sanding and Finishing

Each student will have a chance to do some hands-on turning, and we will produce one finished bowl to be awarded at random to one of the class members.

Ticket price includes all materials.

Please meet in the wood shop area by class start time.

The class is limited to 6 total students to allow time for everyone to do some turning. 

Important Notes

1. Wear a short sleeve shirt.  No ties, necklaces, or other dangly things that could get caught in a spinning lathe.
2. The Basic Woodturning class is a pre-requisite for this class.

Matt (mathew.marulla@makeitlabs.com) is a Cloud Engineer and Astronomer by trade, but has been doing woodworking of various kinds for about 35 years.
