About this event

Come to this info session to learn more about the LAC's Advanced Strategies in Teaching ESOL program. You'll hear about the program and have a chance to ask questions.

About Advanced Strategies in Teaching ESOL: This multi-session program is an opportunity for ESOL teachers to increase their knowledge base by deepening their understanding of such areas as backward design, project-based learning, lesson planning, reflective practice, and particular elements of ESOL (vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, etc). The exact topics of each session will be selected by the group members. The program includes peer observation, an individual classroom-based project, and approximately 30 hours of out-of-class work. In the sessions, teachers will also have an opportunity to present issues and challenges they are experiencing in the classroom and receive support and guidance from both the instructor and their peers.

To join: A Zoom link will be sent to all registrants before the session.

If you have any questions, please contact William Linn at WILLL@lacnyc.org.

With the support of the Office of the Mayor, the New York City Council, and the Department of Youth and Community Development, the Literacy Assistance Center plans offer the Advanced Strategies in ESOL Certificate Program at no cost to all participants who are selected for 2022 .
