About this event

  • Event lasts 8 hours 30 minutes

The Northwest Voice Conference is excited to host our annual Advanced SLP Topics in Voice, Swallowing, and Upper Airway conference. This one-day course is designed to educate speech-language pathologists who are evaluating and treating complex populations in otolaryngology practices and head and neck cancer settings. Whether you're a seasoned professional or a student eager to learn more, we aim to facilitate a supportive learning environment that provides clinicians with updates in evidence-based practice and strategies to optimize clinical care within their unique medical setting.

Our event will be held at the Health Sciences Education Building Rm 125, behind the University of Washington Medical Center - Montlake campus.

Learning Outcomes

As a result of this activity participants will be able to:

1. Describe at least one acoustic voice measure and its clinical implications for patients with dysphonia.

2. Discuss how to apply at least one principle of trauma-informed care into their clinical practice.

3. Identify one unique etiology of dysphagia and intervention specific to head and neck cancer patients.
