Dive into the essentials of scene work in this focused four-week "Scene Study" improv class. We'll explore the art of two-person scenes through in-depth discussion, personal feedback, and dynamic exercises. With an emphasis on honing individual strengths and addressing areas of growth, each class is designed to help performers reach their unique goals. You'll engage in constructive feedback loops, deepen your understanding of character and relationship dynamics, and develop your ability to create authentic, compelling moments on stage.

Dates: This class runs Tuesdays from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, starting November 18th and running for 4 weeks (skipping a week for the Thanksgiving holiday).

Instructor: Casey Searles

Casey Searles moved from Chicago to Richmond in 2022, and is thrilled to be performing and teaching at The Coalition Theater. Since joining Coalition, Casey has been a part of Improvised The Office, The Unofficial Taskmaster, Hear Me Out: An Improvised Musical, Can't Hardly Date, Project Jane, and currently performs monthly with Wolf Night. While in Chicago, Casey studied and performed improv at venues all over the city, including iO, The Annoyance, Second City, Logan Square Improv, and The Bughouse. In addition to improv, Casey has also acted in plays, films, TV, and sketch shows. Casey’s other hobbies include ceramics, printmaking, cooking, reading, and adventuring.

The Coalition Theater is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Once classes begin, all sales are final. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise that prevent you from attending or completing your registered class. While we do our best to accommodate such situations, refunds are awarded only as credit for a future class or shows and are subject to the discretion of The Coalition Theater management. Requests for refunds will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and any decisions regarding refunds will be made at the discretion of the theater.
