Prerequisite: Playwrights must have written at least a short play, know the fundamentals of drama and play formatting. Playwrights are expected to have an idea of the play or screenplay they are going to write. Playwrights will be encouraged to write a play about a historical event important to Mexican-American history or a play celebrating their Abuelita/Grandmother.

Classwill be taught by Josefina Lopez, Founding Artistic Director of Casa 0101 who has an MFA in Screenwriting from UCLA, and is the Sundance award winning writer of Real Women Have Curves which premiered on Broadway this past spring.
