Take your fly casting to the next level. Join the Pequest Natural Resource Education Center staff for Advanced Fly Casting - 301, where we will be going over the Single and Double Haul Cast as well as casting focusing on feel by identifying when your rod loads. You will be casting on grass and on water with yarn (no flies) so no fishing license is required. Equipment will be provided, or you can bring your own, we just ask, no flies.

Age Limits

For ages 16 years and above.

Prerequisites

Participants must be able to perform the standard 4-part cast competently. This class is NOT for beginners.

Participants should be comfortable outdoors in changing weather conditions.

Arrival

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. We will start promptly. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you will not be permitted into the program.

Cancellations

NJ DEP Fish & Wildlife programs require a minimum number of registrants to run. Programs at Pequest Natural Resource Education Center are RAIN or SHINE, but in the event of severe weather, classes may be canceled. If we cancel, due to lack of participation, severe weather, or unforeseen circumstances, all participants will be notified by email as soon as possible.

NJ DEP Fish & Wildlife programs require a minimum number of registrants to run. Please let us know if you are no longer able to attend so your space can be offered to someone else. You can cancel through Eventbrite or email us atpequest@dep.nj.gov.
