About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Interpretek is excited to offer classes teaching American Sign Language and Deaf Culture! All of our classes are taught by Deaf instructors, ensuring authentic and native exposure to the language and culture.

In this course, students will continue to learn about classifiers and how to describe different types of people, various physical traits, and personal items. Students will also expand their knowledge of culturally appropriate greetings and leave-takings within the Deaf community and continue conversational strategies such as explaining, making a request, asking for advice, and showing agreement.

This course covers Units 7 and 8 in the book Signing Naturally Units 7-12.

The classes meet once a week for 90 minutes via Zoom and will run for 10 weeks. (Zoom links will be provided after registration.)
