Certification Process:

1. Prerequisites

• Experience: While there are no specific experience requirements for ACSPO, it is recommended to have hands-on experience as a Product Owner in a Scrum environment. Typically, at least 1-2 years of experience in the role is beneficial to fully benefit from the course.

2. Attend an ACSPO Course

• Instructor-Led Training: The ACSPO certification requires attending a 2-day (16-hour) classroom or virtual course, facilitated by a Scrum Alliance-approved trainer. The course covers advanced concepts and techniques that build on your CSPO knowledge.
• Content Covered: The course typically covers advanced topics such as strategic product ownership, advanced backlog management, stakeholder engagement, and value delivery.
• Active Participation: During the course, you’ll engage in practical exercises, discussions, and case studies to apply the theories in real-world contexts.

3. Complete Course Requirements

• Attendance: To qualify for certification, you need to attend the entire training session. Missing a significant portion of the course may prevent you from getting the certification.
• Engagement: Actively participating in class activities, group work, and discussions is essential for understanding and applying the advanced concepts.

4. Pass the Assessment (If Required)

• No Exam for ACSPO: Unlike the CSPO certification, which requires completing an exam, ACSPO does not typically require a formal exam. The certification is based on your participation and understanding during the course.
• Trainer's Evaluation: In some cases, your trainer might assess your understanding of the course material through practical exercises or discussions, and the certification is granted upon successful completion of the course.

5. Receive ACSPO Certification

• Certification from Scrum Alliance: After completing the course and fulfilling the requirements, you will receive the Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner (ACSPO) certification from Scrum Alliance.

6. Maintain Certification

• Renewal: The ACSPO certification is valid for 2 years. To maintain your certification, you need to earn 20 Scrum Education Units (SEUs) in Scrum-related activities within the 2-year period.

Michel Goldenberg, CST

Michel Goldenberg's Agile journey began in 2001 when he worked on a complex project. Back then, he was residing in Brazil and introduced his team to eXtreme Programming to help complete the project. Inspired by the experience, Michel found his higher calling as a coach and trainer in Agile methodologies.

Michel is also referred to as a professional nomad, as he resided in several countries worldwide and sought to enhance his overall Agile expertise in challenging markets. He has been assisting others in learning and applying Agile principles in real-world scenarios.

In the past few years, Michel has been a driving force in helping businesses in Agile and Scrum transformation in France and Europe. He is still committed to empowering companies to help them learn about Agile concepts and optimize performance while maximizing RoI. Michel's expertise includes Agile Methodologies, Collective Intelligence, LEAN Management, KaiKaku and KaiZen.

Michel has achieved great success throughout his journey. For instance, he attained Certified Scrum Trainer certification in 2009. Additionally, in 2017, he became a notable TAC member and earned recognition as ‘Path to CSP educator’ in 2019. Currently, Michel's focus is to deliver individuals and organizations with certification training under the Scrum Alliance affiliation.
