Free Class: Learn to balance and pedal with patient instructors and other riders like you.
Is learning to ride a bike something you have always wanted to do?
Maybe you think it'll be too hard? Maybe you are afraid to fall? Or perhaps you don't know who can help you. We have the perfect class for you.
Join us at this class and learn to balance, pedal, and roll. Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition's (SVBC's) friendly and patient instructors taught more than 300 people to ride. Those who attend will earn a prize!

The class is held outdoors at El Camino High School in South San Francisco.
Prerequisites:
- Able to balance on one foot for 5 seconds
- Age 14 or older
We cover different aspects of riding comfortably and safely to prevent falls or injury including helmet fit, bicycle fit, a pre-ride check, getting on and off the bike, and more.
Things to bring:
- Helmet if you have one.
- Water and a snack if desired.
- Sun protection
- A functional bicycle if you have one or you can rent one from a bike shop.
SVBC has a limited number of bikes available to rent for $35 for people 4 ft, 8 in - 6 ft, 4 in tall (142.3 cm - 193 cm). If you or your teen needs to borrow one, please include your height information (e.g. 5 ft 1 in or 155 cm) when you register.
Helmets will be available to borrow as well (sizes S - XL).
Parents/guardians do not need to be on site with their teens ages 14+.
Please add a ticket for each participant (separate names). There is limited capacity. Please cancel your order if your plans change so someone else can attend.
Rental ticket cancellation policy: Please let us know at least 72 hours (3 days) in advance if you need to cancel. Refund requests made less than 72 hours in advance will not be granted.
