ADHD 101 TRAINING
Overview
Welcome to ADHD 101 TRAINING!
ADHD DSM-101 is an introductory training designed to give professionals a foundational understanding of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) as defined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5-TR). This session provides a comprehensive overview of diagnostic criteria, symptom presentations, and the developmental considerations necessary to recognize ADHD across the lifespan.
Participants will explore the three primary ADHD presentations—Inattentive, Hyperactive-Impulsive, and Combined—along with common co-occurring conditions and the functional impacts of ADHD in academic, occupational, and social settings. The training also highlights best practices for gathering clinical information, differentiating ADHD from other conditions, and understanding cultural and environmental factors that may influence assessment.
By the end of the training, attendees will be equipped with the knowledge needed to identify when an individual may meet criteria for ADHD and to support appropriate referral, documentation, and treatment planning. This course is ideal for educators, mental health professionals, medical providers, case managers, and anyone seeking a foundational, evidence-based understanding of ADHD and its diagnostic framework.
