Event description
FREE: Join BCCDC Foundation for Public Health, Science World, and Antibiotic Wise for a screening of "Resistance", plus Q&A

About this Event

Common infections and injuries that in the past have been easily treatable with antibiotics are becoming dangerous once again. Drug-resistant infections are undermining modern medicine, killing 5,400 Canadians every year.

The BCCDC Foundation for Public Health, Science World, and Antibiotic Wise are pleased to present a free viewing of the film Resistance followed by a Q&A with Dr David Patrick and Dr Bob Hancock. Dr Patrick is the interim executive lead of the BC Centre for Disease Control and medical epidemiology lead for antimicrobial resistance at the BCCDC. Dr Hancock is a leading microbiologist in Canada, who has taught and and researched at UBC for nearly 40 years.

Join us to learn about the actions we can take now to keep antibiotics working and protect ourselves, our families, and our communities for generations.

Doors: 6:30 pm

Start time: 7:00 pm

Tickets that are unclaimed by 6:50 pm may be released to wait list attendees present.
