About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Are you an artist who wants to put your work on notecards, calendars, and other printed products, but are overwhelmed on where to start? In this workshop, graphic designer and artist Amanda Sneed shares her knowledge from her almost 20 years as a print designer. She has been creating and selling products using her own artwork since 2018. In this workshop, she breaks down the process and provides a list of resources to help those who don’t have a background in design create their own unique products to sell to retail shops, online or at the next big event.

Speaker Bio:

Amanda Cypert Sneed is a long-time Lubbock resident and graduate of Texas Tech University. Although a graphic designer by trade, Amanda always felt called to pursue more hands-on artistic endeavors outside of her day job. Her acrylic, oil, and mixed media work revolves around exploring form and texture, experimenting fearlessly with color, and expressing emotion through lines and marks. Her hope is that her work inspires others to find meaning in the chaos of life and search for the beauty in imperfection.

Frequently asked questions

Who is this workshop for?

Artists who want to create gift-type printed products with their artwork, but are unsure of where to start.

What will I learn in this workshop?

We'll cover printed products from original artworks - specifically giclee prints, notecards, calendars, totebags and notebooks - and provide you with a list of programs, resources, and terminology to help get you started and briefly discuss wholesale and wholesale and retail art.

Will this workshop teach me how to be a graphic designer?

Nope! This workshop was developed to help artists who do not have a design background understand their options for creating their own printed products. Learning how to use the suggested programs and resources provided will be up to the artist.

Why would I want to put my art on printed products?

You've spent hours (weeks or months!) pouring your soul into your artwork. Perhaps you've sold the original? Congrats! But wouldn't it be awesome to be able to continue making money from that piece of art? At the same time, you can help bring art to those who can't afford original works!
