Active Hope: Despair and Empowerment in Our Difficult Times

As polarization between people intensifies, democratic foundations crack, civil rights erode, and extreme weather events worsen, many of us are feeling increasing isolation and despair. It is hard to know how to be grounded and hopeful in this world, or where to even begin. This one-day retreat builds off the work of pioneering eco-philosopher and Buddhist scholar Joanna Macy to lead you through a journey that will reorient your perspective on our current crises and give you the tools to become a bearer of hope for future generations.

The retreat will be facilitated by Mary Pipher, Judy Greenwald, Aubrey Streit Krug, Kim Morrow, and Brad Kindler, and will feature music by Pam Barger. Snacks and a catered vegetarian lunch from Pepe's Bistro will be provided.

Join us for a day of renewal in the beauty of a Nebraska prairie!
