Event description
Join Casting Director, Erica S. Bream in this three-week ONLINE self-tape class, focused on auditioning for PROCEDURALS!

About this event

1. The industry is relying HEAVILY on self-tapes and virtual casting for the foreseeable future.

2. Self-taping is a (very) different muscle than any other audition technique.

3. Auditioning for procedurals is tricky: performances can become flat and boring or theatrical VERY EASILY.

4. Erica has worked on a NUMBER of procedurals and seen it all!

This class will go over important technical aspects of your tapes but will also focus on script analysis, breaking down characters and things you can do to gain confidence in your choices when taping on your own.

  • Actors will self-tape at home (with material especially selected by Erica,) and participants will gather once a week in a LIVE online forum to watch tapes while Erica provides examples and feedback
  • Actors will have access to an online folder where all class work and feedback videos can be accessed. Erica will also post helpful clips, articles and references
  • Intimate class size to provide ample time and attention to each participant
  • Requirements: 1. A way to self-tape and 2. A good internet connection!

Here's what other actors have said about Erica's online self-taping classes:

I booked! This is the first self-tape I've ever booked from and I honestly think currently being in your class helped me with that. - Angel G.

Thank you for another great class. I’ve taking a few since quarantine and this has been my favorite by far. I feel like I have gained so much from your honest and thoughtful feedback. - Samantha S.

I can't thank you enough for offering this class, Erica! I'm learning so much from you and love going back and re-filming these sides with your notes. It's not always easy to find a good acting teacher, but this class feels like I'm back in college. I love raising the bar and this class is doing that for me. - Joshua D.

I just wanted to say thank you for a superb class! The notes and feedback you gave were bang-on and very individualized to each actor. The online format of the class was surprisingly awesome. In a lot of ways, I think it's a better format for an on-camera class because we're watching in the same medium which casting is viewing our tapes, so you're able to observe finer details that you'd likely miss if it were an in-person group class. And I liked how intimate the class size was - it made it feel personal and it was beautiful and educational to watch everyone play and grow each week. - Autumn W.

Thank you so much for offering this class during this time! You are such a bright light and exude an effortless positive energy! It was so nice to be able to go to a class once a week where I felt a part of something/a routine, got to do what I love and got to bask in your energy. It was so necessary for me during this time and I didn't even realize it! I loved how it was organized over the weeks, the feedback videos and the sides you handed out. You just crushed it! I'm in awe of how you are juggling everything right now, mom, casting director, teacher. It's impressive! - Jessica D.

I just wanted to thank you for the Self Tape Class I took with you and Cara Rosenbaum in June. It was really such an insightful and educational experience. Beyond the technical aspects of a self tape (of which I learned SO much), I found the way you spoke to actors about our process and job really encouraging. To hear a casting director speak about craft and breath the way you did made me feel comfortable to do the work I know how to do, rather than feel this other pressure of "acting for the audition”. - Katie B.

I really loved this 4 week Self taping class! As our industry is moving so quickly and constantly changing and growing this course was extremely helpful. I have already started using and applying what I have learned to my auditions. - Austin B.

I've really enjoyed this class. Thank you for your encouragement as well as pushing me to be better. As you know, we don't always get feedback and I feel like I've grown leaps and bounds from this. - JD H.

'Ace Your Self-Tape' was SO helpful to me -- I loved the material that you chose for me to read (it was well suited to my "brand" and I could tell you took the time to be thoughtful about your selections) and I really, really love the way you submit feedback. I felt very *seen* by you. It made me proud when you celebrated my successes and I learned so much through your adjustments and critical feedback. You're an excellent instructor with very helpful feedback that's easy to understand. Every time you gave an adjustment, it made me feel excited to try the material again. - Shannon C.

I've been cast in something! There's no doubt your class helped me. - Jeff B.

What kind of material will we be working on? Do I need to provide my own?

Erica will provide all material. This class is focused specifically on procedurals. Actors will have a chance to tape for different sizes of roles within that genre, with a focus on some of the more tricky aspects of auditioning for procedurals.

What's the difference between this class and Erica's other classes?

This is one of Erica's most popular class structures as it provides a quick and information-filled snapshot of self-taping for a specific (DIFFICULT!) genre. Three exercises, three sets of in-depth feedback... it's like a self-tape BOOTCAMP for anyone who needs a quick dip in the pool.

What happens if I can't make it to a live feedback session?

All feedback sessions will be taped and stored in the class's shared folder! Erica will also record PERSONALIZED feedback videos with picture-in-picture notes, pointers, etc.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Actors ages 17+ are welcome to join!

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Contact Erica through her website [ericasbreamcasting.com]

What's the refund policy?

Full refunds will be honored up until Jan 31, 2022. Due to the nature and timing of this class, no refunds (full or partial) will be paid out past this deadline.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Sure! As long as you let Erica know who the new participant is by Jan 31, you are welcome to transfer your registration to anyone else.

I need to discuss a payment plan... is that possible?

Absolutely. Contact Erica directly (ericasbreamcasting@gmail.com) to discuss details.
