Accessibility Checkers Demystified: Use Tools Wisely to Support Learning
Automated accessibility checkers are great at flagging common issues—but they can’t tell you whether your content truly makes sense for all learners. In this hands-on workshop, we’ll explore how to use Microsoft’s Accessibility Checker, Canvas Ally, and the Canvas Rich Content Editor’s accessibility tools to identify and fix common accessibility issues. You’ll learn how to interpret automated feedback, apply best practices for remediating content at the source, and verify improvements by re-scanning documents. Through a live demonstration and guided practice, you’ll build confidence in using checkers as part of a proactive, human-centered approach to accessibility.
Tools Covered During Session:
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft PowerPoint
