    How to Manage Research and References the Smart Way

    Join us for this 2-part (2 hours total) academic writing workshop designed to help you organize your research and references the smart way—using Zotero. Whether you're a grad student, researcher, or nonfiction writer, this hands-on workshop will boost your efficiency and reduce citation chaos. *Zotero is a trademark of the Corporation for Digital Scholarship

    • Session 1: Thursday, July 24, 6–7 PM CDT
    • Session 2: Thursday, July 31, 6–7 PM CDT(One hour per week — attend both for the full experience! Price includes both sessions.)

    Do I need to know anything about Zotero ahead of time?

    No. We do request you register for an account, but we will show you all the ways to use it to organize your resources.

    Does Zotero integrate with Word or Docs?

    Yes, it has an add-in that allows you to easily cite sources in your papers.

    Is this workshop only for academics?

    No, you can be a writer of any type that needs help organizing your resources in one place.

    Will session recordings or materials be available?

    Yes attended will receive recordings and materials following the workshop.

    How do I provide feedback about the event?

    We will provide a survey after the 2nd day. We appreciate the feedback!

    How do I access the workshop?

    The workshop is held live via Zoom. The link will be sent to you after registration.

    Can I register for someone else?

    Yes, you can purchase tickets for others. Make sure to provide their email addresses for access information. We also have limited 2 for 1 tickets.

    What do I need to participate?

    You’ll need a computer with Zoom access. Please install Zotero and its browser connector before the session for hands-on participation. Instructions will be provided after registration.

    Will there be time for questions?

    Absolutely. There will be a Q&A session, and you are welcome to bring your own citation challenges or questions.

    Will I get hands-on practice?

    Yes! The workshop includes demonstrations and hands-on activities. You can use either Word or Google Docs for citation practice.

    What if I have accessibility needs?

    Please contact the organizer in advance to discuss any accessibility requirements.

    What should I do if I have trouble installing Zotero?

    Contact the organizer for support before the session, or bring your questions to the workshop Q&A.
