Join us for an academic healthcare bootcamp to start the new school year off right! We will be providing breakfast, lunch, and snacks. There will be breaks between sessions. This is a 2 day event, so if you sign up, you are signing up for both days. Make sure you can attend both days before signing up, as this has very limited spots available!
Day 1: Academic Strategies
- Anatomy & Physiology Refresher: An engaging, interactive review of essential A&P concepts to help students reactivate foundational knowledge critical for clinical coursework.
- Syllabus Mapping & Calendar Planning: Students will learn to extract key dates from their syllabi and create personal academic calendars to stay organized and proactive.
- Test Taking Strategies for Healthcare Exams: Focused preparation for exams like NCLEX, ARRT, and SPI, including test logic, question deconstruction, and practice techniques.
- Learning Styles & Self-Assessment: Students will explore their individual learning preferences and identify strategies that work best for their style, leading to better retention and performance.
- Mindfulness & Academic Wellness: Guided breathing, visualization, and focus techniques to manage academic success, prevent burnout, and promote wellbeing.
Day 2: Practical Skills and Professional Development
- Foundations of Clinical Success: Interactive seminar covering core clinical skills including vital signs, patient assessment, documentation, clinical reasoning, and adaptability.
- Interpersonal Skills for the Clinical Setting: Small-group and role-play activities emphasizing communication, collaboration, patient education, cultural competence, and ethical behavior.
- Professional Readiness & Clinical Etiquette: Practical guidance on time management, handling feedback, professional communication, and building confidence in unfamiliar clinical situations.
- Hands-On Clinical Rotations: Students rotate through practical skills stations led by faculty. Topics may include vitals, PPE and infection control, lab safety, patient positioning, oxygen setup, and ultrasound prep. Each student tracks their confidence level and receives real-time feedback.
