Communication skills are important for statisticians and data scientists as we are called upon to engage with a variety of audiences to help them understand and apply our work to their lives. Communication experts in other fields have developed tools we can learn from and borrow. We can also create a new model of communication by developing strategies for our areas of strength. This talk will use examples to discuss the best communication techniques from other fields and to suggest new areas of development.
