Spend a morning learning about year-round and summer resident birds in the San Jacinto Mountains. Robin Roberts will give a 45- minute presentation of some of these birds through her photography. Afterwards, she will lead a bird walk for those who sign-up along the Desert View and Nature Trails in Long Valley at about 8400 feet looking for birds such as the White-headed Woodpecker, Clark's Nutcracker, Red-breasted Sapsucker, Cassin's Finch, Violet-green Swallows, and more. THE DETAILS:

- Date and Time: Saturday, June 14, 9:00 am-11:30 am (see our website for instructions on purchasing Tram tickets and arriving on time) Remember MEMBERS receive a 20% discount on Tram tickets.
- Meet at: the Santa Rosa Theater on the 1st floor of the Mountain Station just next to the Visitor Center down 1 floor from the 2nd floor tram exit.
- Preparation: At least 1 liter of water, sturdy shoes, snack, binoculars (also available to loan at 1st floor Visitor Center) Hat, sun screen, bird check list (available at the NHA Visitor Center).
- Hike Level: Easy, mostly trail walk
- Class Size: Limit: 12
- Registration: Each individual attending must be registered with their own name. A registered name occuring more than once will be considered an error and cancelled.
- Release of Liability: You will need to sign a Release of Liability form which can be accessed for reading on line at msjnha.org/liability You can print and sign in advance or it will be provided by your hike leader to sign when you meetl
