From the Lab to the Clinic: Translating Basic Cancer Mechanisms

Presenters:

Andrei Goga, MD, PhD
Medical oncologist and
professor of Cell and Tissue Biology, UCSF School of Dentistry

Dr. Goga is a medical oncologist and translational investigator studying cell cycle regulation, microRNA function and metabolic changes in cancer, with a special emphasis in models of breast and liver cancer. The goal of his research is to translating these findings to new patient therapeutics. He is an active member of the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He is a Medical Oncologist and Attending Physician at the UCSF Breast Care Center where he cares for patients with breast cancer, including helping direct a clinical trial of novel therapeutics for patients with metastatic cancer.
