Join us for a full day dedicated to Ableton, exclusively for educators, at Ableton Spaces in Pasadena. Ableton Educator’s Day is a professional development event designed for educators integrating Ableton tools into their classrooms. Participants will deepen their skills, exchange ideas with peers, and connect with a community of forward-thinking music technology educators.

Event Schedule

Morning Session (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM) | K–12 Educators
The morning program features keynote presentations by Lawrence Grey and Thomas Faulds, focusing on project-based learning approaches and innovative strategies for engaging diverse student populations.

Afternoon Session (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM) | Tertiary Educators
The afternoon includes a live performance by Electronic Music Group (The Trajectory of Love)—featuring Claire Marie Lim (dolltr!ck), Jamie Blake, and Chuck Sutton—followed by interactive workshops covering advanced harmony, live performance with vocals, and MPE-based sound design.

Evening Session (4:00 PM – 7:00 PM)
The evening session focuses on Max for Live and advanced Max/MSP programming, led by Yeuda Ben-Atar (aka Side Brain). Yeuda will demonstrate how to use Max for Live to extend, customize, and hack Push 3 hardware, unlocking new performance and pedagogical possibilities.

The evening also includes a special guest presentation by David Zicarelli, Founder of Cycling ’74, sharing insights into the evolution and future of Max in creative and educational contexts.

The event will conclude with a special audiovisual performance by Cycling ’74 and USC professor Tom Hall, closing out the day with an immersive exploration of sound, visuals, and real-time systems.
