Abby Innes Talk

Reimagine Economics is a satellite group of Reimagine Norwich organising talks and campaigns at UEA, working with Reimagine Norwich and Rethinking Economics.

Our goals are to help people to understand the social and ecological impacts of neoliberal economics, learn about alternative ways of organising an economy, share ideas, knowledge, energy and resources to develop tools to campaign for social and economic justice and campaign for curriculum change to reflect the reality of the social and climate crises.

As part of a series of talks we have Abby Innes coming to speak. Author of Late Soviet Britain: Why Materialist Utopias Fail and Associate Professor of Political Economy at LSE, she’ll deliver a talk entitled The Political Economy of the Green Transition: Will the Real ‘Utopians’ Please Stand Up? in which she’ll argue that those who believe that we can have infinite growth on a finite planet are actually the utopian thinkers.
