Overview

Localized History Project and Asian American Education Project are building NYC's AAPI Studies Curriculum! Come learn Queens AAPI History.

The Localized History Project@AAARI-CUNY and The Asian American Eduation Project are working to build NYC's AAPI Studies Curriculum, and support educators, students, and community learn and incorporate localized NYC AAPI history into their classroom.

In this event, learn Queens' based history from NYC youth researchers, featuring the following projects:

  • Filipino Nurses activism in Woodside
  • Indo Caribbean Music + Culture in Richmond Hills
  • Vietnamese Nail Salon Workers Stories in Queens
  • South Asian labor history in Jackson Heights

The event will include primary resource packets and support/work time for educators to weave these stories into their classrooms. Food, coffee, and bubble tea provided!
