About this event

Charity & Causes • Other

Amarillo Area Corvette Club is sponsoring a Poker Run as a fun way to interact with the community while benefiting the charities we support: Our Childrens Blessing and Palo Duro Air Force Jr. ROTC.

We will begin our day with the presentation of the colors by the ROTC and singing of the national anthem at Ussery Roan Veterns home before our drivers meeting.

Our stops this year include Buc-ee's, Bubba's 33, Glass Doctor, High Plains Childrens' Home (HTeaO), Kind House Ukraine Bakery, La Familia Custon Shop & T-Shirt Bar & Tripps Harley-Davidson. Our sponsors have treats for the first 50 hands that are purchased.

Each of the stops will result in drawing a card from a fresh deck. You will keep the card and mark it on your scorecard. An official MUST watch you draw the card and certify it. If you draw a card you already have, you will present the duplicate card and your scorecard to the official to be allowed a redraw and return the duplicate card. Keep your cards and your scorecard. You may be asked to provide both for proof of your hand.

Hands will be decided as winning in the following priority:

1. Royal Flush

2. Straight Flush

3. 4 of a Kind

4. Full House

5. Flush

6. Straight

7. Three of a Kind

8. Two Pair

9. Pair

10. High Card

If the winning hand is tied, the winners will each draw a card and the high card wins. To be tied, winners must hold both competing hands and high card. An example, if 2 straights compete, the straight with the highest card wins, and a tie breaking draw will only occur if both straights have the same numerical value. In the case of a full house or two pair, the dominant group will determine high value and the second group holds no determining value. So 2 pair, jacks high is 2 pair, jacks high, regardless of whether the other pair is 2s or 7s.

If the “Worst Hand” is tied, similarly, the “losers” will again draw a card, but the lowest card will win.

Hands will consist of 5 out of your 6 cards. You get to choose which 5 will make the best or worst hand. The remaining card is disregarded.

No cards can be traded. Each card you draw will be certified, and there will be no deviation allowed. If your scorecard isn’t certified for all of your cards, you forfeit any cash prizes.

Prizes will be distributed at the final stop, and winners must be present. We will call for candidates that believe they hold hands that contend for a prize, and it is the responsibility of the participant to identify themselves to be considered. Even if you have a winning hand and do not identify yourself as a contender, you will forfeit your prize.

Cars will be counted at each stop to make sure everyone arrives.

There is a cash prize for the Best Hand and trophies courtesy of THINK METAL for the Best Hand and the Worst Hand.
