Event description
Join the Global Preparedness Monitoring Board for the launch of its first report on the state of the world's preparedness for health crises.

About this Event

In a rapidly evolving context of population growth, migration, insecurity and climate change, the world is increasingly vulnerable to the next epidemic or pandemic. To prepare for health emergencies at all levels, determined political leadership is urgently required.

Join the Global Preparedness Monitoring Board (GPMB) to launch their first report, A World at Risk, and discuss with world leaders urgent actions needed to prepare for and mitigate the effects of the next global health emergency.

For too long, leaders have allowed the world to be caught in a cycle of panic and neglect when it comes to epidemics. It is well past time to act.

Speakers will include:

  • H.E. Dr Gro Harlem Brundtland, Co-Chair of the GPMB, former Prime Minister of Norway and former Director-General of the World Health Organization
  • Mr. Elhadj As Sy, Co-Chair of the GPMB and Secretary General of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies
  • Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization
  • Annette Dixon, Vice President, Human Development Global Practice, World Bank Group
  • High-level government and civil society leaders

Registration is required for attendance and space is not guaranteed. If tickets are no longer available, please email slevy@globalhealthstrategies.com to be placed on a waiting list.
