Taste a single tea prepared in different ways, explore how it pairs with food, and collaborate to curate your own pairing using a selection of ingredients. Along the way, discover insights inspired by a new book on tea pairing events, combining flavor, creativity, and playful exploration.

Workshop Structure:

Introduction

Tea & Pairing Foundations

  • Short presentation on flavors and pairing principles.

Comparative Tasting: One Tea, Different Methods

  • Taste a single tea prepared in multiple ways.
  • Discuss aroma, texture, and flavor differences.

Guided Tea + Food Pairing

  • Experience one curated pairing.
  • Explore how flavors complement and enhance each other.

Collaborative Pairing Activity

  • Participants will be divided into groups.
  • Select different ingredients from a provided selection to pair with the tea.
  • Share and present ideas with the group.

Closing Reflection & Q&A

About the Speaker:

A Hong Kong-born Chinese who started her tea journey in 2006. Her work focuses on taste, quality, and curating tea experiences, ranging from private Gong Fu Cha sessions to high-end tea pairing at a fine dining restaurant. She is passionate about exploring and experimenting with flavour combinations, which led her to become a Tea Sommelier. Since 2021, she has been the curator of tea pairings and tea events at Oukan Dining.
