Join us in person or on our livestream for a conversation previewing the special session with state Reps. Carol Alvarado, Drew Darby and Matt Schaefer.
Alvarado, D-Houston, has represented House District 145 since 2009. She serves as chairwoman of the House Urban Affairs Committee and sits on the Higher Education Committee. Prior to joining the Legislature, she served on the Houston City Council and as Houston mayor pro tem. Alvarado also currently serves as principal for CA Consulting.
Darby, R-San Angelo, has represented House District 72 since 2007. He serves as chair of the House Energy Resources Committee and sits on the Redistricting and Ways & Means committees. He also chairs the Select Committee on State & Federal Power & Responsibility. Darby is also the owner of Surety Title, a title and escrow services company.
Schaefer, R-Tyler, has represented House District 6 since 2013. He sits on the House Corrections and Homeland Security & Public Safety committees and is chair of the Texas Freedom Caucus. Previously, he served as director of U.S. Sen. John Cornyn's regional office in Tyler and advised the chairman of the Texas Sunset Commission. Schaefer is also a lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve.

This event is free and open to the public. Coffee and networking begin at 7:30 a.m., followed by the interview at 8 a.m.
