ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Darby Baham is an author and storyteller on a mission to make women like herself feel seen and believe that love is possible for them, yes them. The former Times Picayune and Washington Post contributor often uses her doubts, hopes, and fears to connect with her readers and inform the themes in her Harlequin romance series, The Friendship Chronicles. The sixth book in the series, A Risk Worth Taking, released on July 29, 2025, continuing her love letter to female friendships and offering an intimate look into the dynamic love lives of Black women.
Veronica Miller Jamison is an author and picture book illustrator based outside Philadelphia. Her work celebrates imagination, discovery, and intergenerational connection. Veronica is the illustrator of three picture books: “A Computer Called Katherine,” written by Suzanne Slade, “This Is A School,” written by John Schu, and “Up Periscope!,” written by Jennifer Swanson, which was named a School Library Journal Best Book of 2025. Her debut author-illustrator title, THE STORIES IN YOU, is slated to be released in Fall 2026.
Both women are 2005 graduates of the Howard University School of Communications. They have worked together on commissioned artwork for Darby's romance series.
