Building Responsible AI: A Practical Framework for AI Governance in Enterprise Organizations

As artificial intelligence rapidly transforms business operations, organizations face mounting pressure to implement AI responsibly while managing complex risks around privacy, security, bias, and compliance. Drawing from my recent journey to ISO 42001 certification, this presentation provides practical frameworks for establishing effective AI governance in enterprise environments. Attendees will learn how to distinguish critical AI roles, implement structured AI review processes, and address unique security challenges of generative AI including data poisoning, model theft, and hallucinations. The session covers how to translate Responsible AI Principles into operational controls through AI committee structure, vendor evaluation, human oversight requirements, and incident response. Whether your organization is beginning its AI journey or scaling existing implementations, you'll gain actionable governance foundations to use AI safely, ethically, and effectively in today's rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.

Christopher Payne is Chief Information Security Officer at Poppulo, where he leads global security and established the organization's Generative AI governance program. Chris has over 20 years of cybersecurity leadership experience building security programs across companies such as Zendesk, Zillow Group, and Target. Christopher founded GrrCON and BrrCON cybersecurity conferences, and holds a myriad of certifications and degrees.
