Event description

Description

Clean Ocean Action and the Monmouth University Urban Coast Institute have teamed up to host the New Jersey premiere of A PLASTIC OCEAN which uncovers the shocking truth about what is truly lurking beneath the ocean’s surface in an effort to raise public awareness regarding our overuse of plastics and how we can begin to reverse this devastating epidemic. This award-winning documentary shows the disastrous effects of our disposable lifestyle on marine life and the consequences for human health. CAUTION: The tragic images of suffering and dying wildlife are disturbing and may not be appropriate for children.

Following the film Gary Sondermeyer, Bayshore Recycling Corp., Vice President of Operations, will provide a keynote address discussing solutions to our overuse of plastics and how we can reverse the trend of this devastating epidemic. His presentation will be followed by an engaging Q&A session.

Partnering organizations will be tabling prior to the screening and after the presentation. More details to come soon!

There is no cost to attend but registration is required as seating is limited! Parking for the event is available in Lot 18.
