Interested in a career in anaesthetics? Perhaps you're just starting to consider your options for specialty training or maybe you're already decided, either way this day is for you. Together we will cover topics such as why anaesthetics, explore the role of the anaesthetist in more detail, delve into the training programme and application process, and provide some top tips on things you can be doing now to enhance your CV ahead of an application to anaesthetics. We'll finish the day with some interactive practical sessions where you can practice skills such as intubation, bronchoscopy and ultrasound identification of vessels for vascular access. Certificates and a post-course handout with useful information for your application provided.
Please note due to popularity places are highly sought after on this course and there is a waiting list. Attendance at the course is expected with all booked places, and a register will be taken on the day. If you can't make it having booked a place, please contact harriet.white3@wales.nhs.uk and your place can be given to someone else on the waiting list. Unexplained absences on the day will be communicated to the Foundation Programme Training Programme Director to try and discourage this, and ensure no one misses out on a spot unnecessarily.
