A National Trails Day Event: Exploring Saddleback's Alpine Zone
Have you ever wondered how delicate alpine plants survive the extreme weather atop
Saddleback Mountain? Or what makes Maine’s high-elevation ecosystems so rare and
remarkable?
Join Amanda Reimer, Outreach Steward with the Maine Appalachian Trail Club (MATC),
for a special National Trails Day event at the summit of Saddleback Mountain. Spend
the afternoon learning about Maine’s alpine zones and the important work MATC does
to protect these fragile environments.
The meeting location will be at the summit. Space will be limited due to the sensitivity of
this ecosystem. Once your spot is reserved, we’ll email you the meetup time and other
event details. Contact Amanda at MATC with questions: americorpoutreach@matc.org
This event won’t be held in rainy or unsafe conditions. If the forecast looks unfavorable,
participants will receive an email notification by 5:00 PM the day before the event.
