Join us on Friday, October 4 for a memorable evening featuring a keynote conversation with Joyce Carol Oates, a literary icon with over 80 acclaimed works spanning fiction, short stories, plays, poetry, and nonfiction.

Celebrated for her masterpieces like Them (1970 National Book Award), Blonde (2000 National Book Award) and the bestseller We Were the Mulvaneys, Oates will discuss her remarkable career and literary contributions in a captivating dialogue with Joe Barry Carroll, former NBA All-Star, artist, author and DBF Literary Luminary sponsor. Recent publications from Oates include the reissue of Broke Heart Blues, Joyce Carol Oates: Letters to a Biographer, and Butcher. Oates’ accolades include PEN America’s Lifetime Achievement Award, the National Humanities Medal, and the World Fantasy Award for Short Fiction.

The Keynote event will take place on Friday, October 4 at 7:00 PM on the DeKalb County Stage in the Sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Decatur. The discussion will be followed by a book signing.
