About this event

The Cambridge Biomedical Campus brings together major medical, scientific, and commercial initiatives in one location on the southern fringe of Cambridge. It is the largest life sciences site in Europe. Currently approximately 22,000 people work there and by 2030 this figure will have grown to 30,000. Further expansion is planned until 2050.

Sociologists and local residents David Skinner and Will Brown’s project A Sense of Pace considers the past, present, and future of the Campus from the perspective of the people who live around it. Join them for a guided walk around the site offered in partnership with the Cambridge Room. The walk starts at the bus station by the entrance to Addenbrookes Hospital and lasts for approximately 90 minutes.

If you want to learn more about the walks and/or about David and Will’s research about the campus, please email senseofplace@aru.ac.uk. Their project website is www.cambridgeasenseofplace.net
