Description

Pop a bottle of champagne and don your best beret, because The Wild Honey Pie is throwing its first ever French dinner party concert! Join us in Brooklyn at Michelin-approved Mominette on Wednesday, May 15 for three courses of mouthwatering Parisian-style cuisine accompanied by specialty cocktails, followed by a serene and soulful performance by Irish singer-songwriter Rosie Carney. As a special treat to all attendees we will have Slow & Low Rock & Rye complimentary cocktails all night. Made with straight rye whiskey, navel oranges, raw honey, Angostura bitters and a small dose of rock candy, Slow & Low is a refreshing burst of warm citrus flavor that is ready to drink and ready to be shared. Rosie Carney’s affinity for delicate piano melodies and soft acoustic strums are appropriately atmospheric, as her music is the kind best consumed in an intimate setting. Though her sound is hushed, with over two million monthly listeners on Spotify, Carney’s reach is anything but. Her debut LP, Bare, was released in January and it showcases her otherworldly talents as a songwriter carving out her own genre of indie folk. With a wistful, reverberating vocal and a delicate arrangement of piano and string instruments, Carney delivered 11 beautiful tracks that virtually swaddle your ears in warmth and comfort. Her lyrics are just as affecting, touching on themes of isolation, loss, and love from a relatable millennial perspective. “She sings sweet things / To the ones that take her home / After the laughter / She's left stuck on her own.” Sweet and clear, Carney’s vocals rest on a foundation of heavy emotion. Live, her performance will grip you. So don’t miss the chance to hear one of indie music’s most exciting emerging artists the way she was meant to be heard: up-close, personal and with a plate of dessert in front of you.

“Her music is unique, and hard to describe, it doesn't easily fit into obvious genre boxes of "folk, ambience, or soul", but instead exists as an exciting new amalgamation of all three… close proximity and [a] quiet audience is the perfect way to listen to her music live.” — Earmilk

“The reason why Carney became a quiet success story is obvious. Her voice is remarkable, and she is an exceedingly fine songwriter.” — Irish Times

“Coming from a musician who so effectively articulates alienation and thwarted desire, it's no surprise that "Winter" paints a delicate, bleakly beautiful picture of seasonal isolation.” — NPR
