About this event

Community • City & Town

Catalyst Conversations invites you to A Delicious Experiment: the Art of Food & Science of Cooking featuring Artist Emily Eveleth in conversation with Harvard physicist David Weitz, Ph.D.

Open to mind-expanding experiences? You can expect the unexpected on this evening of transformation, 2-ways. In a visual feast, acclaimed Boston Artist and professor Emily Eveleth conjures mouth-watering pastries from paint. Physicist David Weitz, who leads the Experimental Soft Condensed Matter Group in Harvard's school of engineering and applied sciences, collaborates with the world's most innovative chefs to deconstruct flavors and textures in food, which has resulted in a new book Science+Cooking and the popular Harvard course of the same name.

Both speakers will present their work and research. This will be followed by a dynamic moderated conversation with the audience. Attendee participation is encouraged!

A reception with the speakers will immediately follow the event in the building lobby with refreshments provided. Thanks to our reception sponsor Flour Bakery.
