A DEEP NIGHT/THE BIRTH OF LIGHT
Overview
On the longest night of the year, we gather to remember the light we carry within. Through shared song circle, breath work, ecstatic dance, and a guided shamanic journey, we create a space where the heart can open, the protective layers can dissolve, and the deeper truth of who we are can begin to shine.
This ceremony is an invitation to meet yourself with tenderness. To touch the quiet, authentic self beneath the masks, the heaviness, the walls. Together, we generate a collective vibration that heals, awakens, and gently dissolves what no longer needs to be held. As we sing, we open not only to the I AM within but to the sacred spark we recognize in one another. As we move, we let the body give form to our journey through the dark and help integrate the inner work we are doing. And in the guided journey, we turn fully inward, allowing Spirit to meet us where we are and offer exactly what this season asks of us.
This is a space to remember that we are not alone. Even though each of our paths is unique, the deeper archetypal themes of being human — the descent, the longing, the healing, the birth of new light — are shared. Here, we support those who need loving energy, and we open ourselves to receive and be held by the love of the community. We honor the human experience in its fullness, especially the darker passages, and discover the gratitude and wisdom waiting there.
In the deep night, we gather as a spiritual family — to reconnect with ourselves, with one another, and with the light that is always being born anew.

FACILITATORS:
Shamanic Journey:
Matthew Stackowicz is an embodiment alchemist weaving breath, visualization, movement, shamanic devotion, reiki, somatic awareness, and dance into all he does. He hosts regular men’s circles, dance practices, shamanic journeys, retreats, and community embodiment endeavors in Chicago, Indiana, and around the world. He gently and artfully guides others into connecting with themselves, others, and the divine in deeply held sacred containers where people can explore the intricacies of their heart, mind, body, and soul. His hope is to connect people to their fullest truth, authenticity, and expression to bring about the healing that this world desperately needs.
Song Circle:
Enoch Kim has been guiding spiritual communities in song for over 20 years. Rooted in his early years as a song leader within Christian churches, his path has since expanded into a wide and evolving spiritual landscape. For the past seven years, Enoch has been facilitating spiritual music sessions and retreats, creating containers where vulnerability, healing, and authentic presence naturally arise.
Through soul-centered songs and intentional presence, Enoch creates spaces where people feel safe to open their hearts, connect with the divine within, and experience the power of collective resonance. Whether in intimate circles or larger community events throughout the Chicagoland area, he guides participants into deep stillness, shared harmony, and a remembering of what’s most true.
Ecstatic Dance:
Breah Young is an Integrative Reiki healer, somatic movement guide, advocate, and educator of over 15 years. Rooted in the wisdom of her lived experience of dancing through the dark with compassion in order to find her light. Bridging mind, body, and soul through mindfulness, energy work, breath, and embodied somatic release are woven into her personal healing practices, as well as her early childhood education classrooms, mental and behavioral health care career, sisterhood circles, retreats, and ecstatic dance spaces. She creates a sanctuary where intuition, passion, innocence, and empowerment, rise in a sacred union.
In this sacred embodiment ceremony, Breah will guide a meditative movement and breath practice that feels like a prayer to the goddess of night. She invites you to move and breathe as an offering. Allow your body to speak its winter wisdom. Awaken the dark feminine that stirs beneath the stillness in honor of the shadow. Ignite the fires within as an invocation to the sun gods honoring the light.
