RENEW will be holding a two day program in Boston, led by GE Vernova, that will give members an in-depth interactive experience with GE MARS (GE Multi-Area Reliability Simulation Software Program). It is the program ISO New England is using in its initiative to redesign the capacity market.

Speaker: Matthew Elkins, Technical Director, GE Vernova

The program will be hybrid. Being in the room is strongly encouraged as participants will benefit from the in-person interaction. I will host a dinner after the first day’s session.

MARS Overview (1-2 Hours)

  • What is and is not modeled
  • How it meets RA needs

Resource Adequacy Metrics (1-2 Hours)

MARS Program Logic (2-3 Hours)

  • Step-by-step logic discussion
  • What MARS is doing at each step

Visualization of Results (1-2 Hours)

  • What can be reported from MARS
  • Balancing visualization of individual hours
