Enjoy a driving tour of the Historic Dixie Highway from Markham, IL where registered vehicles and their riders will enjoy a free pancake or omelet breakfast to St. Anne, IL where the tour will end with music, food, special events and prizes.
Between those two towns, our plans, subjedt to change due to unforeseen circumstances,are to visit a distillery once operated by Al Capone, free ice cream cone at the Homewood Dairy Queen, the art deco murals of Bloom Township HS, the Sears Catelog homes in Crete, a hot dog lunch at the Old C&EI RR Train Depot in Beecher, a grain elevator in Grant Park, the farm museum in Momence and other interesting places .
Online, preregistration is $20 plus processing fee. Pre registered vehicles will receive a goodie bag. Online registration closes at 5 PM CDST on June 14th.
Day of the event on site registration is $25 and day of event registrations will receive a goodie bag as supplies last.
Mail in registration forms are available at as-r-us.com and the printed form and a check for $20 payable to A's R Us must be mailed and received at the address and PO Box listed on the preregistration form by June14, 2024.
Frequently asked questions
While we enjoy classic cars participating, the event is open to any vehicles that are registered and insured. In 2023, 60% of the registered vehicles were classic cars.
Registration if for the vehicle being driven, regardless of the number of persons inside the registered vehicle. All drivers will need a valid DL and all vehicles will need to show current registration and proof of insurance prior to beginning the tour.
Funds realized, after expenses, are used to maintain, replace or repair Dixie Highway metal signs along the route as well as the 19 Dixie Highway 100th Anniversary storyboards located in Blue Island to Danville, Il.
A's R Us Model A car club is the sponsoring organization. Entering its 28th year the club is chartered through the Model A Car Club of America (MAFCA). The club has over 40 members who own over 60 Model A Ford automobiles. The club participates in South Suburban activities throughout the year.
The event will start at the Roller Rink on Dixie Highway in Markham, IL with a free pancake or omelet breakfast, sponsored by Mayor Roger Agpawa and the City of Markham. They will begin serving at 7:30 AM and the first group of cars will be released at 8 AM. Registration will close at 10 AM.
We go rain or shine due to the logistics of planning such an event, it is impractical to reschedule the event,
