About this event

This event is for you if any of these are true:

You have a creative project/practice in the works and are craving a change of scenery.

You want to meet new creative people.

You’re looking to boost your creativity by relaxing, drawing, reading, journaling, playing with prompts, or daydreaming.

You like getting inspired.

What to expect:

2:30-2:45: Arrive, pick a seat, get settled; please try to arrive on time!

2:45-3:00pm: Brief intro by Kate to help get your creativity flowing;

3:00-4:30pm: Self-guided time for you to work on your project/practice, engage in inspiring prompts, meet with collaborators, talk through blocks, etc;

4:30-5:00pm: Closing thoughts, shares, mingling, or keep working!

August's Artist Special is a Wild Gears drawing workshop with one of our Creative Sunday regulars and extraordinary photographer, Jeanne Schlesinger. Similar to, but way beyond, the Spirograph kid toy, Jeanne will be bringing all the supplies and walking us through the mind-clearing, creativity-unblocking world of geared drawing.

As always, you can choose to participate in the monthly special and/or use the time to do your own thing.

What to bring:

Your project (if you have one in mind);

Books/magazines on art/creativity to read/share/swap;

Charged devices (plugs are limited);

Hotspot if wifi is needed (there is no public wifi);

Notebook and writing utensil;

Headphones (if your project has sound or you prefer your own music).

What NOT to bring:

Creative projects that are super messy (paints, charcoal, etc);

Noisy creative projects that cannot be contained with headphones.

What I'm providing:

A typewriter for embracing all the typos;

Prompts and books to get your creative juices flowing;

Colored pencils, paper, and coloring books for doodling, drawing and relaxing;

A dreamy, focus playlist;

Local teas and light snacks.

Food & Beverage:

Gold Palm is CLOSED to the public during this private event which means no food orders. Cash bar will be open, including teas from Teas with Meaning.

Cost:

Suggested donation $10-$40
