The Victorian Chapter of the International Law Association (Australian branch) is delighted to welcome you to the Victorian Chapter’s second conversation with renowned international criminal lawyer Dr Felicity Gerry KC.
This conversation is hosted by Corrs Chambers Westgarth at their Melbourne Office and will take place on Wednesday the 23rd of July at 6pm (registration from 5.30pm). It will be followed by an audience Q&A and refreshments.
Dr Gerry KC will discuss her role as Defence Counsel in cases before the International Criminal Court (The Prosecutor v. Al Hassan) and the Kosovo Specialist Chamber (Specialist Prosecutor v. Sabit Januzi et al., in which she acted for Mr Bahtijari). Dr Gerry KC will also discuss her important work with Lawyers Without Borders, a global organisation that strives to improve the rule of law around the world.

Speaker Bio:
Dr Felicity Gerry KC is renowned for her work in high-profile legal cases in Australia and overseas. She is also a highly respected academic. Her expertise spans war crimes, terrorism, modern slavery, financial crime and international governance, to name a few.
Dr Gerry is Honorary Professor at Deakin University and is admitted at the International Criminal Court and the Kosovo Specialist Chambers (KSC) in The Hague, the Bar of England & Wales and the Victorian Bar, Australia. Dr Gerry's contributions to law have earned her widespread recognition, including being named the 2020 Lawyers Weekly Australian Barrister of the Year.
