Danish Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs

Brian Arthur Mikkelsen is the current Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs for Denmark. He was appointed in this position in November 2016 after spending time as the Danish Culture Minister (2001-2008), Justice Minister (2008-2010) and the Minister of Economic and Business Affairs (2010-2016). He was first elected to the Danish Parliament (Folketinget) in 1994 as a member of the Conservative People’s Party.

Due to his capacity as minister, Mikkelsen also holds the positions of Ex-Officio Member of the Board of Governors for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Nordic Investment Bank (NIB). Mikkelsen has also been a member of the executive committee of the World Anti-Doping Agency since 2001 and served as its Vice-President from 2004 to 2006.
