A Conversation Amongst Peers, an NJCDA platform program, brings NJCDA members and Future members together to engage in conversation that aligns with the National Career Development Association (NCDA) conference theme and mission for the year. With this year’s NCDA theme, A Kaleidoscope of Career Interventions in an Age of Uncertainty, our organization proudly presents, Ideas to Interventions: A Year of Challenges and Creativity in Career Development.

The upheaval of 2020 has brought forth various challenges for career development professionals across the country. Between transitioning to a virtual workforce and an ever-changing economy, professionals across the globe were unexpectedly challenged to reevaluate strategies in order to succeed in this new economy.

This three-session, one-hour series, serves as an opportunity for participants to engage in dialogue with like-minded peers, to reflect on the past, acknowledge the present, and focus on discovering strategies to thrive in the future.

Session 1: Reflection on the Past: Ideas & Insight

We will discuss lessons learned over the past year, sharing ideas and insights into how we adapted and adjusted to facilitating career development in the moment.

Session 2: Acknowledging the Present: Resources and Tools

Date: April 27th

Time: 5PM

We will share in the realities of our current situation, focusing on the resources and tools we have available to help keep up the momentum and continue providing quality services to our students, clients, and advisees during this period of cautious optimism.

Session 3: Discovering the Future: Programming and Intervention

Date: May 18th

Time: 5PM

We will plan for the future, exchanging innovative ideas for programs and interventions that respond creatively to the challenges still to come.
